How narrow minded can one be? Or not minded at all? The greatest potential today on the web in my humble opinion is the mash up idea ... If all data providers thought the way Ordnance Survey do I believe GIS on the web would soon be something from the past ...

In this case, it's not OS, but Google that are the culprits here. Google's licensing terms are insane. Just use Virtual Earth instead !
