TerraLook (http://terralook.cr.usgs.gov) provides recent and historical satellite data at no charge as georeferenced JPG images. The source data are Landsat images from about 1975, 1990, and 2000, plus the full ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) archive (2000 to 2008). A tremendous resource for both research and instruction, the data sets are provided as simulated natural color images. TerraLook’s goal is to serve data users who have a need for images of the Earth but may not have technical remote sensing expertise or software. A Terralook collection can contain one to hundreds of satellite images from a single region or many regions of the globe. [...]
