Quote of the day ...

So true. If GIS folks in general would stop feeling so f...... important and started making what is high tech to low tech we would see GIS in action everywhere. Maps appeals to everyone and Google Maps has already shown that maps need not being hard to handle. Now it is time for data owners to work on making the GIS part just as easily available. I believe in the long run it is so possible if people dared to step outside the box and let go of the control. The Web is a gigantic selfmodifying organism that feed on data and ideas - free GIS and the ideas will be popping like never seen before.

It is clear GIS developers understand what hasn’t worked in the past and what needs to be done in the future.  The trick is to enable complex GIS analysis in a way end users can take advantage of it.  If it was easy, everyone would already be doing it.
