The ESRI Europe, MIddle East and Africa User Conference 2008 opened today in London, UK under bright and sunny skies. With about 1600 in attendance, “this conference is the largest gathering of GIS professionals in the UK and in Europe,” said Richard Waite, director of ESRI (UK). Waite went on to point out that ESRI (UK) is on a mission that includes “making GIS an indispensable part of daily life,” the thought giving way to the theme of this years event - ‘GIS for Everyday Life’.
