Google plans to host a press conference on San Francisco on Feb. 2, for a "special announcement about Google Earth". The speakers include eco-luminaries like Al Gore as well as Marissa Meyer and Eric Schmidt, plus dignitaries from the California Academy of Sciences and National Geographic.
