'eSri Lanka' theme song to be launched on February 3

When you create a Google Alert (http://www.google.com/alerts)  on 'ESRI' you automatically get hits from Google containing the word ESRI in your mail box. Of course far from all have relevance and I'm getting quite good at filtering say hits about the Economic and Social Research Institute from Irland away. But from time to time a weird or funny one slips through ... for instance this happening i Sri Lanka called eSri Lanka ...

The "eSri Lanka" theme song proposed to be used for awareness purposes of the 'eSri Lanka' project will be launched in the first week of next month, Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) says.

ICTA Head of Communications Athula Pushpakumara says that coinciding with the launching of the 'eSri Lanka' theme song an awareness campaign on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) too will commence at national level.

"Particularly in the backdrop of 2009 being declared by President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the 'National year of IT & English Language ', ICTA aims at creating a greater awareness among the people about the use and benefits of information technology", ICTA official spokesman points out.

Five top new generation musicians have contributed to the 'eSri Lanka' theme song. The five-member team consisted of Kasun Kalhara, Indrachapa Liyanage, Nadeeka Jayawardhana, Kasun Ranasinghe and Newanthi Gunasekera.

While the composition of the theme song is penned by Sanjaya Epa Seneviratne the music comes from the creativity of Nadeeka Jayawardhana and its music video direction is from Udaya Dharmawardena. The 'eSri Lanka' theme song can be downloaded online using www.icta.lk from 3rd February 2009.
