This discussion provides the migration workflows for the five most common GIS data formats (tables, shapefiles, coverages, CAD data, and imagery) to the geodatabase. It is recommended that you are familiar with the geodatabase and basic geodatabase concepts. Users new to the geodatabase can learn more by listening to the Instructional Series Podcast episodes "An Overview of the Geodatabase and Five Reasons Why You Should Use It" and "Types of Geodatabases at ArcGIS 9.2."
