Company: KOREM inc
Location: Québec, Québec, Canada
It is now possible for MapInfo Professional users to integrate the maps published on mapworkspace.com in external Websites, using the embed code
Quebec City, July 18th, 2008 / KOREM, a leader in the development and integration of Web-mapping solutions and geographic information systems, announces the availability of a feature allowing the mapworkspace (http://www.mapworkspace.com) users to integrate their maps quickly and easily in external Websites, using the embed code, thus allowing them to make the map easily accessible to a target audience.
Mapworkspace is a web-based map networking service intended for MapInfo Professional® users to upload their workspaces and associated documents and share them with other GIS professionals, and to communicate and exchange information with peers. Through its community focused functionalities such as contact management, favourites, tags and messaging, mapworkspace makes it easy for its users to interact with each other, explore the mapping information and stay informed on newly published maps relevant to topics that matter to them.
Mapworkspace allows its users to easily upload and share maps. The users may now integrate the maps they published on mapworkspace.com in external Websites, using the embed code which is generated automatically when a map is published, no matter if the card is public or private. Users simply need to copy and paste the embed code from the “Embedding” section of their map managing interface to any Web page. The users of the different Websites can consult the map very easily with the embedded navigator which allows for zooming and moving around the map.
«The process for integrating maps in external Websites is simple and allows the mapworkspace.com users to make their maps available to a specific public in an appropriate context. This new feature represents a considerable value-added to the mapworkspace solution which gains in popularity», said Jean-Sebastien Turcotte, Vice President and CTO of KOREM.
The basic service is available free of charge to anyone who registers and provides users with all the functionalities and a personal folder of up to 50MB. Through the basic service, all published maps are made available to everyone or to the author exclusively. A subscription service provides the user with more folder space and a wider range of use of the embedding code.
